# Black Hole Liquidity

The purpose of gmUSD is to lock up the supply of gDAI and gmdUSDC. The greater the demand for gmUSD, the greater the Black Hole.

As a result, this would ensure a healthy deposit locked in GMD’s USDC vault and gTrade’s vault, ensuring healthy growth for both protocols.

Consequentially, his would also lead to more GLP being locked into the black hole, since it is the underlying asset of GMD’s USDC vault.
